Introduction to Basketball Coaching Workshop 2026

Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) hosted an “Introduction to Basketball Coaching Workshop” at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots basketball development locally.

The workshop included sessions on warm-ups, basketball philosophy, fundamentals of offence and defense, athlete preparation and building successful school basketball programmes.

Among the facilitators are Coach Manoj Yadav, Coach Daniel LaFont, Coach Warren Wilson and Coach Willon Cameron.

Officials from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport are also participating in the initiative aimed at enhancing coaching standards in Guyana.
